I've been using the automatic hardware and network detection, and the guided partitioning, using the largest empty space with all files in one partition. Disk 0 Partition 3 and Disk 0 Partition 4 are created by debian-installer before it breaks. I've had to reopen Windows and delete those before each installation attempt. Partway through installing the base system my monitor loses signal. Section 5.4.4. of https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/amd64/ mentions that "vga=normal nomodeset" could possibly help with a black screen, but this didn't work. I assume the passage meant that the monitor was receiving an invalid signal, not no signal at all, but I thought it was worth trying. I've tried both the graphical and text based installer and encountered this problem. I've tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers but that didn't help.
