Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2002-08-14
Severity: important

A fresh debiam ARM 3.0r0 CD will not install on an Acorn StrongARM RiscPC.

After getting the dinstall.zip unpacked, I found that I tended to need to set the
"Next Slot" in
RISCOS to its maximum to permit the kernel to boot.

After this, the installer gets to the point of trying to install the basesystem, and
then either
hangs trying to mount the CD (Sony CD) or resets the installer to the beginning of the
installation
in a consistent manner. (Ultima CD).

This is using the internal IDE drive as the filesystem.

cheers, Rich.
