Just for information : * all removed programs were working for me (except mdmdetect, not tested). I know they can be rewritten very easily but ... * you use discover data files, which uses 2.2.x naming scheme for modules. Previous pci.lst (for hwdata) used 2.4.x naming scheme. * now ethdetect need to parse this file at runtime (former ethdetect was using a static .h) I think diskdetect can be useful, but maybe devfs and libparted supercedes it.
