That's how I thought things should work. It seems that people on debian-boot haven't been aware of this arrangement; Eduard Bloch, in private email, implied that he hadn't even noticed that my bug reports were on the "install" package rather than "boot-floppies". >install Installation system Is the debian-boot list for both installers, or specifically for boot-floppies? If the latter, then presumably bug reports for the "install" package should also go to wherever the debian-installer developers hang out. >installation Installation system I noticed this one, and was curious. How is it different from "install"? >installation-reports Reports of installation problems with stable & testing I'm a bit hazy on the distinction between this and "install". Is it that this is for discussing the *results* of an installation, whereas "install" concerns the *process* of installing? >Would your request be satisfied if any bugs against install/installation >regarding boot-floppies were reassigned to the package of that name, and >the boot-floppies developers agree not to brush off bugs filed there >with "won't happen in boot-floppies" (and to reassign bugs to >install/installation as appropriate)? Seems like a good idea, if I understand you correctly, but it requires careful consideration of what constitutes a bug "regarding boot-floppies". All the details in my bug reports refer to the specific behaviour of boot-floppies, and indeed I initially thought that the bugs were regarding boot-floppies (before I became aware of the plan to replace boot-floppies with debian-installer). It seems most appropriate that my bug reports should be reassigned to the debian-installer package, since that's where they'll be fixed if there's agreement that they're really bugs. I'd be delighted if they're then immediately closed with "this problem doesn't exist in debian-installer". -zefram -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
