HUPing main-menu presumably causes it to exit (unless you trap SIGHUP
for some reason). HUPing debconf may cause data loss..

That said, another approach is to make debconf notice changes to
debconf/frontend, and just load up the new frontend and use it for the
next question. This would be great, but the ease of doing it is er,
somewhat implementation dependent.
