mouse configure

hello: this is my first time with linux, i�ve installed DEBIAN, but when i choose the mouse ps2scroll and the kde started, my mouse was static. how do i repair that? i�v got a mouse with scroll, of course. thanx a lot   Sol (from argentina and a bad english!)
