Package: linux-kernel-di Severity: grave Tags: d-i Justification: renders package unusable
While trying the daily-generated netinst image grabbed from gluck on Oct 15th (dated Oct 15th, 00:16), the following happens : info: Trying to nable linux fram buffer Using /lib/modul s/2.4.22-1-386/k rnel/drivers/video/vesafb.o modprobe: failed to load module vesafb info: Trying to nable linux fram buffer Using /lib/modul s/2.4.22-1-386/k rnel/drivers/video/vesafb.o modprobe: failed to load module vesafb info: Trying to nable linux fram buffer Using /lib/modul s/2.4.22-1-386/k rnel/drivers/video/vesafb.o modprobe: failed to load module vesafb (the missing "e" letters are also reproducible..:-)) .../... I tried with and with kernel parameter "video=vga16:off" which seemed to me the only one for controlling whether some "advanced" graphic features are used or not, but the same happened. Test conditions : VMWare virtual machine on my PIII-800 Dell X200 laptop. VMWare acceleration disabled or enabled (no change). On the same hardware with the same virtual machine settings, the image from Oct 12Th loads well (but fails later for some other already reported bug). The image from Oct 9th loads well. I'll try with Oct 16th image as soon as I get it (it seems that kernel-image changed in the last hours). PS : hope this is reported against the appropriate package -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux mykerinos 2.4.22 #2 Mon Sep 29 15:12:10 CEST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (ignored: LC_ALL set to fr_FR.UTF-8) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
