Severity: important
Hi,
i have a Mainboard (ASUS A7V) with 2 IDE controllers: The first is ATA66 and the
second ATA100 (why?). Putting the HD
on the second i see it in woody bf2.4 as /dev/hde, but i dont see it when using the
official netinst CD of sarge. The
autodetection of debian-installer makes it worse:
After a long time i found out, that i have to manually modprobe pdc202xx_old and then
ide-detect (on tty2) as soon as
debian-installer asks questions.
I am sorry if i put this in the wrong place! Hope, someone will correct this.
Cheers,
Mathias

AFAIK hw-detect has loaded all PIC ide drivers before ide-probe since
shortly before you filed this bug report. (I have similar problems with
my laptop hard drive.)
