Well, while testing the d-i initial stages, I saw badly encoded
umlauts.....then I checked on a copy I had for the translation file
(alioth was down then) and found that umlauts were ISO-encoded while
the encoding announced itself to be UTF-8.
Seems that this has been fixed in the meantime.
