Having followed your discussion, I tried yaboot on my Motorola Powerstack Utah (PReP, not CHRP), and it crashes on boot. I've found no indication whatever that these machines are supported by yaboot, so I don't think so. CMIIW, in this case I would file a bug report someplace...
