Package: debian-installer
Version: sarge-i386-netinst.iso, 2003-11-19
Severity: normal

After installing d-i and rebooting, I found that /cdrom contained a
broken symlink:

cdrom/cdrom0 -> //cdrom0

No idea what that is for or what creates it.

/dev/cdrom is a link to /dev/cdrom/0, which will not work outside devfs.

Thankfully, /etc/fstab did point to the right device for /cdrom,
/dev/hdc in my case.

Can no longer reproduce the more buggy parts of this (the broken links
and bad dev files). I don't _like_ devfs's /cdrom0 and /cdrom/cdrom0
nonsense, but it doesn't break anything.
