I tried, Sven, and inserted 192.168.1.1 but nothing worked. Also, Nathanael, I use an ADSL connection: usually I just enter a username and a password, and the system works. It is the very thing I am doing right now, from a knoppix-cd. All I know is that something called pppoe has to be set. Actually, I am left with only a knoppix-cd: the installer formatted my hard disk, but nothing positive happened, then. Please HELP: how can I install debian? Is really this d-i beta3 working?
