Ethereal on Windows reports ARP and DHCP packets. The Realtek ethernet card is mentioned in a disappeared file in /etc/network/ and the module 8139too seems to be functional. In the Debian installer DHCP has no result, also the hostname is sometimes not asked. A solution is found on [EMAIL PROTECTED] (http://www.troublesathome.nl/). With nano the file /etc/dhclient.conf is created with the text (hostname cp12345-a as example): interface "eth0" { send host-name "cp12345-a"; } This seems to be sufficient. After "ifconfig eth0 down" and "ifconfig eth0 up" download and installation became possible. In the new configuration on HD the ethernet card is not functional. Adding "8139too" to /etc/modules seems to be a solution. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
