I'm not sure XB-Subarchitecture will work since you probably have to list _all_ supported subarches, otherwise it will think they are not supported. I could be wrong, though. In the meantime, I just added a debian/isinstallable script since I had the same problem on mips. Feel free to add m68k, and test it - it seems to work for me.
