-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I'm not an expert but I would like to build a kernel .udeb with kernel-wedge.
The problem is related to my main-board, with sis serial ata chip, supported only from 2.6.6-rc1, so the need of recompiling a new kernel. On other hardwares I succesfully tested d-i- beta 4 from PxE and USB stick and I want to build these images with 2.6.6 support. Tryng kernel-wedge (fakeroot debian/rules binary) on a 2.6.6 recompiled with the .config of 2.6.5-1-386 I was asked about missing "ide-generic.o" file (the first file in autogen config for modules bt k-w), strange since kernel 2.6 uses ".ko" for kernel modules. To obtain that I cloned the "packages/kernel/linux-di-i386-2.6" directory from the svn sources and modified "kernel-version"... but maybe I missed something, how kernel-wedge support 2.6 ? I compiled the kernel .deb with "fakeroot make-kpkg kernel_image --initrd - --append-to-version -1-386" for minimum swap of config bytes. I know that maybe waiting a week or two I can have the official 2.6.6 without effort, but I would like to do that myself to learn and maybe to recontribute back when I will can. Any hints on building those pesky kernel 2.6.6 udebs with kernel-wedge? - -- Marco Amadori <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAqJNLQ8Nx9BqyEXoRAoNiAJ0dLcN3/Kui5ve04gkFiuBTFxA+XQCgzK1s zymKYySGKcAqiPa4p1hG0+c= =yZwJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
