Hmmm. I looks like it is the 'basic-desktop' task. This installs the x-window-system package which depends on xdm. So this would happen to users who select _both_ the 'basic-desktop' task (which pulls in xdm) and the 'desktop' task (which pulls in gdm). The 'desktop' task by itself installs x-window-system-core which does _not_ depend on xdm. I guess 'basic-desktop' is meant for people who want X, but don't want KDE and GNOME. But it isn't clear from the descriptions that if you select 'desktop' you don't need to select 'basic-desktop' as well. In fact, it seems like you are supposed _not_ to. Well, personally I've never liked tasksel anyway... Cheers, FJP -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
