This is unnecessary and harming. For example, I have to scroll down the ru entry, read the whole line to make sure it's really russian and not Bulgarian, Ukrainian or Byelorussian, then understand the difference between ru and ru_RU and the select. This must be more intuitive, for example Russian (other) - Русский (другие страны) - ru This would be enough to choose the needed language. It is understood, that we will continue the installation afterwards. -- System Information: Debian Release: Nikolai Prokoschenko Special APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.4-1-k7 Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 --------------------------------------- Received: (at 243705-done) by bugs.debian.org; 7 Jun 2004 14:43:03 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jun 07 07:43:03 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from onera.onera.fr [144.204.65.4] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1BXLL4-0004oH-00; Mon, 07 Jun 2004 07:43:02 -0700 Received: from cc-mykerinos.onera (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by onera.onera.fr with ESMTP id i57Eh1vZ023419; Mon, 7 Jun 2004 16:43:01 +0200 (MEST) Received: from localhost (mykerinos.onera [127.0.0.1]) by cc-mykerinos.onera (Postfix) with ESMTP id 13A0323281; Mon, 7 Jun 2004 16:43:01 +0200 (CEST) Received: from cc-mykerinos.onera ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mykerinos [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 32445-07; Mon, 7 Jun 2004 16:42:41 +0200 (CEST) Received: by cc-mykerinos.onera (Postfix, from userid 7426) id 0135D23279; Mon, 7 Jun 2004 16:42:40 +0200 (CEST) Date: Mon, 7 Jun 2004 16:42:40 +0200 From: Christian Perrier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Clean languagechooser bug log Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-message-flag: Outlook is a good virus spreading tool. I close this way as I am the reporter 242557, 242556, 242555: the new layout makes this BR irrelevant 236257: less likely to happen with the new layout (no more "choose this..."). Anyway, no simple solution for fixing it 220705: should be far more evident that the question is a *language* question and has nothing to do "country-related". Anyway, making the question simple is intentional-->we don't want to clutter people with too much information. Explaining the consequences of the language choice pertains to the install manual 215205: fixed for a while now, either with "old" or "new" layout 243705: this was the major goal of the "new" layout..:-) -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
