I retried this with different sizes from 10Gb to 20Gb. Then after deciding to format /dev/hda5 and mount it as root I was warned that my partition table had errors and this I should return to fix them, I returned but was unable to fix the error (as I was unsure what it was) and continued on with the intall against the advice of the error messages. The install seems to work. There was also a problem later after the reboot, as packages from ftp.uk.debian.org via FTP were not working so I got them via HTTP. I chose aptitiude as the package manager and then chaged my mind, when I exited (by pressing q) the packages I had selected were installed and setup I was then droped to a prompt, I had expected no packages to be installed and to be presented with the dialog showing the package manager choices again. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.26-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
