When trying to install using the Linux 2.6 kernel, the installation hangs during the hardware detection to find CD-ROM drives. The last message is "Loading module 'ide-cd' for 'Linux ATAPI CD-ROM' ...". If I switch to a console and do a 'dmesg', the last few lines are:
ide-cd: cmd 0x5a timed out hdc: lost interrupt ide-cd: cmd 0x5a timed out hdc: lost interrupt hdc: lost interrupt
The CD-ROM drive is identified as a "TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-1602B, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive".
This problem did not appear when trying to install using the Linux 2.4 kernel.
