Comments/Problems:
At the screen to install LILO I hit return using the default hard drive.
It went to a black screen, displayed a few messages about failing to load
certain module, like usb-serial, then went right back to the LILO screen.
Hitting return and choosing 'continue' both resulted in this behavior. I
then tried to leave the field blank and hit return and got the same thing.
I thought I was dead in the water, so I hit a few garbage characters, hit
return, and got back to the menu of installation options.
I then installed GRUB, which seems to have worked, though the GRUB
installer progress-bar didn't get cleared and now I'm back at the
installer main menu.
I then chose to finish the installation, and then main menu disappeared,
displaying the GRUB progress-bar, which was at 80% and said "updating
/etc/kernel-img.conf". It never did anything, so I hit the reset button.
No kernel ever gets installed, so the boot fails.
I tried this 3 or 4 times with different servers and had same results.

and ideas you had during the initial install.>
