I also did this same install with the same hardware and a current (2000724) net-install iso image. Everything went smoothly except for two areas:
1) Just like your install, the auto net config did not work. I too made due with a manual static config. However, unlike you I was able to write a /etc/network/interfaces that allowed me to use ifup to connect using dhcp. Unlike your install I was not able to continue after the base install as apt would not connect to any debian server I tried (in spite of the fact that I could easily ping them all). 2) The partitioner went ahead an created a "NewWorld Bootblock" per my selection. But installing yaboot failed, until I was able to manually select the partition to install it on - an option that doesn't always appear. I'm still unable to use dselect, aptitude, or base-install to connect to any debian server in order to continue this installation. I wonder if you might have any suggestion that could turn this problem around? TIA, Gary -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
