Everything went smoothly, except: After the reboot I about 16 complaints of the form: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x45E1 When I specified the Debian mirror I wanted to use, and it tried to reach the site, I again got these messages, after which it informed me that the mirror was unreachable. Methinks it is /dev/eth0 that is unreachable. The messages continued sporadically until I rebooted out of the installation. Please let me know what additional actins you would like me to take to diagnose this problem. I suspect it may not be a problem with the installer per se, but perhaps with some of the software being installed. My woody system, on the same machine in partition /dev/hda4, works perfectly. I believe it is the proper driver for my ethernet card.
