First of all. Please DO NOT send mails with html. Most people use text-mode

Installer could boot from this device probably because BIOS supports
booting from it.
What IDE-controller do you have? Is it IDE at all?
Maybe loading additional CD modules would help, but without further
information it's hard to help you.
