KDE is installed because I chose the Desktop task. However, it does not install kde-i18n-fi, although I chose country and language as Finland and finnish. The only language available in KDE is english. Gnome works in finnish. Bug: X Window keyboard is USA. Finnish keyboard works in console, but X Window uses USA keyboard. X Window configuration went OK, except it did not ask what keyboard I want. I used the default level for questions. These lines are in /etc/X11/XF86config-4: Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" Option "XkbModel" "pc104" Option "XkbLayout" "us" For finnish keyboards, there should be pc105 and fi. <Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments and ideas you had during the initial install.> Other finnish users have wanted fi_FI.utf8 as default finnish locale. I use that too, but change the locale with dpkg-reconfigure locales. Some typos and bad wording in finnish texts, but I'm one of the finnish translators so those I have to fix myself. There was one user who specifically says the finnish translation is good. PS Bug: The gdm login screen was in finnish and even after a reboot I'm almost sure it was in finnish. Now it is in english even if I changes in from Language drop down menu to finnish. Install logs and other status info is available in /var/log/debian-installer/.
