Hi I'm installing Sarge on a Dell PowerEdge 2650 using the aforementioned snapshot build.
If I install 2.6.7, it oopses on trying to load aic7xxx, so I have to use 2.4.26 on it. I also tried installing with linux26 and expert26 and with and without aic7xxx=no_probe, but to no success. It still probes the module, which says "Hardware not found" or somesuch. After the CD part of the installation, it Oopses. Per se, using the 2.4.26 is not such a bad deal, as I can upgrade, but when I compiled 2.6.8.1-ck1server, I got the horrible realization that the installation is dependant on devfs. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the 2.4.26 installation uses an initrd that runs devfs which allows the scsi raid to be mounted? Does that initrd cause /proc/partitions to show the wrong naming scheme? Why on earth would you demand devfs? I also have to boot using lilo, since grub gives me some unspecified error.
