I added this hack to append nonbreaking whitespace to the ends of ites in the
partition menu to avoid some bad bugs with items that had the exact same text.
It was probably worth the ugliness of the hack to fix those bugs, but as a
side effect installs using the text frontend (over non-utf8 serial console)
got really ugly:
