I've installed an old 1 GB hard disk as /dev/hdd or (hd1) and installed Debian in that disk (840M ext3 root all inclusive, 256M swap) as a test. Debian Installer still put Grub on the MBR of /dev/hda or (hd0), and I have to set hda as BIOS boot device instead of hdd (that was what I originally planned). But in this way it works: Grub starts (stage 1.5 present) and I can boot the system.
