First the good news: No more kernel panic from booting the CD! Consider that problem fixed, at least on my Blade 100 with the netinstall image from http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sid_d-i/sparc/current/.
The bad news: Now that I can successfully boot from the CDROM, I am encountering some of the problems described here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=275627 I think that the proper BTS etiquette here is to follow up on those problems at that bug, so that's what I'll do.
