Just to add to this information, I received the same error with the RC1 installer containing the base system (100mb iso). This was on a Dell PowerEdge 2550.
The lines before the error message on vc/3 said: Insmod /path/to/sd_mod.ko No matching physical volumes found No volume groups found Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while. If you want more info, just let me know. Btw, I used this very same CD to install the very same machine before, but I wanted to revise my patitioning scheme and decided to reinstall.
