Hi Michael, I've uploaded a new version of netcfg. Want to try the latest image?
When it fails, switch to the second console and record the netcfg
version (run 'netcfg -V'). There could be some drift. It should
be 1.03 if you are running the new version.
Also boot with
linux DEBCONF_DEBUG=5
and see if you can somehow get /var/log/syslog online somewhere so I can
see what's going on.
