This is a fairly strange error. Can you please send us the syslog (gzipped!) of an installation where this went wrong? If it also went wrong in your last installation (i.e. before you selected the vserver kernel), you will find the log in /var/log/installer/syslog. If it did not go wrong during that install, you would have to run the installation again to reproduce the error. Note that the vserver kernel is not really a correct kernel to use for a regular desktop machine. I'd suggest that you install the normal linux-image-2.6-amd64 package, if needed after completing the installation with a vserver kernel. > Grub install boot record in IDE disk, not in my SATA boot disk.
