Hostility is one thing i'm pretty used to get from *bsd camps... i can't understand the animosity towards *linux by them... But it's very annoying... But i think it should be clear that the debian project has no intend to relicence any Package which is licenced under the BSD Licence, as this is a Certified Open Source Licence. And forwarding patches upstream is an essential concept of Open Source Development ;) so this should not be blocked by unneccesary licence conflicts. But i do not think that the *BSD folks just don't like the GPL. I fear they don't want their OS to be used by incapable people, but at the same time they're envious to all the media attention and hype around Linux (which is why there are a lot of people asking silly questions about linux, they could've found out be reading the docs) So they don't want their *BSD "debianized"... Whenever i went into a freebsd irc channel, they were very unfriendly to me; they whois'ed me, saw that i was on linux and debian channels and even just kicked me right out... reminds me a lot of 31337 behaviour. :-( I hope this will change if Debian/BSD works out.
