Package: debian-installer
Severity: important

I was able to successfully install a Debian system with the snapshot from
2005-01-09, but with 2005-01-10 or 2005-01-11, I get a red window on the
"Choose country or region" screen and it says

An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item
again from the menu, or skip iot and choose something else. The
failing step is "Choose country or region"

The fourth virtual console has this text:

main-menu[546]: DEBUG: resolver (di-utils-reboot): mark
main-menu[546]: DEBUG: Menu item 'countrychooser' selected
main-menu[546]: DEBUG: configure countrychooser, status: 2
main-menu[546]: DEBUG: configure iso-3166-udeb, status: 2
countrychooser: error: Unable to locate info on country 'US'
main-menu[546]: WARNING: **: Configuring 'countrychooser' failed with error
code 1
main-menu[546]: WARNING: **: Menu item 'countrychooser' failed.

This is with linux26 kernel being used and is easily reproduced by just
starting a new install.

Regards,
Blair

This is a known bug, a fix was uploaded a few days ago and should be
available in today's daily build for i386.
