Package: lm-sensors
Version: 2.8.8-7
Severity: important
lm-sensors installs just fine. sensors-detect ... detects my hardware
just fine. However, after loading the modules, sensors whines : "No
sensors found !"
I reproduced this on two systems running Sarge 3.1.
System A has nforce2 based motherboard with :
* ISA bus address 0x0290 (Busdriver `i2c-isa')
Chip `ITE 8712F Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9)
System B has Via (AppolloPro133x) based motherboad with :
* ISA bus, undetermined address (Busdriver `i2c-isa')
Chip `VIA Technologies VT82C686 Integrated Sensors' (confidence: 9)
On both machines, I've loaded i2c-core, i2c-dev, i2c-isa and i2c-sensor.
Getting the source and compiling the userspace tools did not help (same
result).

That's nice it is working. However the problem is a bit different than
the problem that you get with your other mainboard. Here loading both
bus driver and sensors driver is forbidden by the hardware, whereas it
was forbidden by the software (ie the kernel) on the other mainboard.

Ok, I'll send them a mail, maybe during the week-end because it is not
sure I'll have a lot of time until then.
I think this bug can now be closed.
Bye,
