This bug report comes from my sister, who edits a lot of scientific
web page stuff in mozilla's composer. I switched her over to the vera
fonts today, and it was fine, except that subscripts and superscripts
are not very obvious. If something is squared, the '2' is a bit smaller
than a regular 2, but it is not obviosly a superscript unless compared
side-by-side with a regular 2.
I don't know if this is a bug in the font, mozilla, or something
underneath, so feel free to reassign. Here for reference is an example
of a web page that demonstrates the problem when viewed in mozilla's
composer using the vera fonts.
http://www.kitenet.net/~anna/test.html
I also see the problem in mozilla-firebird on a different machine, also
using vera fonts.
