Package: lirc-x
Version: 0.6.5-1
Severity: normal

When pressing buttons on my IR remote, irxevent is very slow to respond.
On the other hand, irw and irexec have very good response time. I use a
.lircrc file much like this (with more similar stuff in the tv section):

-----
begin
        button = TV
        prog = irexec
        config = xawtv -xv
        mode = tv
end
begin tv
        begin
                prog = irxevent
                button = 1
                config = Key 1 xawtv
        end
end tv
-----

When I hit the TV button, I instantly see xawtv's messages pop up on the
console where I started irexec. However, changing channels and other
things that use irxevent takes about 0.5 to 1.0 seconds. From my
experience with other distros, this seems unique to Debian.

Thanks,
Mike Rosulek
