A delta generated on a i386 machine (I have tried with both a RedHat
7.2 and Debian woody) will not apply properly on my Alpha:

tar zcf deltatest.tar.gz r1 r2 rdelta
and applying the delta on the i386 machines works.)
Using a delta generated with the Alpha on the i386 works fine. I also
notice that the exit code returned by the `xdelta delta' is 1 on both
architectures as if there were an error, yet no error is reported.
