Version: 0.2.11.1-3
Severity: normal
I'm not sure I can describe this enough to be repeatable [I hate to get
bugreports like that], and I see such ones on rare occasions. Nevertheless
it seems to be a dependency resolution problem.
After selecting several packages for install and remove, then pressing 'g'
to see what's the result, many packages including 'wv' was showed as broken
(status pB). The page of the package (after pressing ENTER on it) looks
like (I collapsed some trees to fit on screen):
pB --\ wv <none> 0.7.2-2
Description
wv - Convert and preview Microsoft Word documents.
wv (previously known as mswordview) is a library which allows access to
[...cut...]
stored in.

pB 0.7.2-2
First I tried to press '+' "outside" of this page, right at the screen after
'g', no effect (stays pB), then on the top line of this screen with the same
(non-)result. (It should.)
Then I tried to go on line '--\ libwmf0.2-6 (UNSATISFIED)' and pressed '+',
but still nothing happens. (It should, again.)
If I go and press '+' on the line after that ('p A 0.2.6-1') it gets
installable, and 'wv' gets installable as well. Sounds good.
Okay, the more interesting part follows. If I press '-' after pressing '+'
on the line 'p A 0.2.6-1' it gets 'p' status again, seems nothing has
changed. (Well, 'A' disappeared after 'p', not that it should matter.)
BUT from now on I can press '+' anywhere I mentioned earlier which causes
both packages ('wv' and its dependency libwmf0.2-6) to be selected as
installable.
I wrote exact names because it's possible that something's funny about
dependencies. Probably not.

The new aptitude resolver should be a lot smarter about solving
situations like this. Please let me know if you see the problem
with a current aptitude.
