It'd be nice if you could include something like logrotate.d/innd so
that news logs get rotated. Something like..

/var/log/news/news.log {
        daily
        compress
        delaycompress
        rotate 7
        missingok
        postrotate
          /etc/init.d/inn2 reload > /dev/null
        endscript
}
[..] (etc. etc.)

..would be good. At least then the log files wouldn't grow to
astronomical size.

inn uses its own log rotation. See the news.daily man page for details.
