Package: raidtools2
Version: 0.90.20010914-15
If the root filesystem is using raid and/or lvm, Woody will not boot.
This is because the default /etc/rcS.d startup scripts mount the root
filesystem read-only, remounts as read-write, then starts raid (raidstart)
and lvm (vgchange -a y). Even with lilo configured with root=/dev/md0,
the system will try to mount /dev/md0 as / (in my /etc/fstab) and fail,
because raid has not been started.
I was able to work around this by moving the raid2 and lvm startup scripts
to S07raid2 and S08lvm to start before S10checkroot.sh. This starts raid
and lvm support before attempting to mount the root filesystem, and I
believe is the proper startup script order.

The raidtools2 package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/298968 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
