Package: gitk
Version: 1:1.5.3.1-1
Severity: minor

gitk stores geometry information in ~/.gitk and uses it to restore
the window size and position on next start. It should not do this,
as window placement and sizing are the task of the window manager.
It would be nice if gitk could lose this "feature", or make it
configurable.

Cheers,

Hi, there's been some discussion on this upstream, and finally
 http://git.kernel.org/?p=gitk/gitk.git;a=commit;h=b9bee115
made it into gitk.

I think that's not actually fixing all your concerns, but it's the
middle way upstream and users have agreed upon, so I'm closing this
report. Feel free to re-open if you don't agree.

Thanks, Gerrit.
