Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.7-1
Severity: important

Since my ISP installed a transparent proxy based on HTTP/1.1 protocol, XMMS
started to hang every time I try to listen a CD on it.

After some debugging, I noted that XMMS's CD input plugin make it's queries
to freedb.freedb.org using port 80 and HTTP/1.0 protocol.

As HTTP/1.0 is almost dead and many things (including transparent proxies)
rely on HTTP/1.1, i think that XMMS must use this new version.

Best Regards

experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
