Subject: leafnode 1.9.19-7 cannot create a valid message-id

Package: leafnode
Version: 1.9.19-7
When trying to post an article to a newsgroup leafnode should generate a
valid message-id from /etc/hosts:
127.0..0.1 abacus.mid.example.com abacus oldname
After posting the Message-ID looks roughly like this:
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
So leafnode is not taken the FQDN but instead the IP number. I have an
account on news.cis.dfn.de with a dynamic dns.
I only can solve this problem by setting
'hostname=abacus.mid.example.com' in
/etc/news/leafnode/config.
Updating to 1.9.24 solved this problem.
I am using
Debian GNU/Linux 3.0
Linux version 2.2.20
gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease
libc6 2.1.3-10.
