Package: waproamd
Version: 0.6-7.1
Severity: important
I have 'Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection' card
inside my notebook (Sony Vaio FE31ZR) and that is why I installed
non-free drivers for it from Debian repo (firmware-ipw3945 and
ipw3945d). This card is seen as eth2 under my system. Manual 'iwlist
scan' and 'iwconfig essid <name>' works well. So I dercide to install
waproamd to automaticly connect to any access points. But waproamd does
not start:
pterodactyl:~# waproamd -i eth2 -n -s -w
waproamd 0.6 initializing, using wireless event notifications.
Enabling user space roaming failed, doing without.
Currently not associated, interface enabled.
Initialization complete.
Scanning...
Corrupt scan result (2)
Shutdown
Here are the details:
pterodactyl:~# strace -f waproamd -i eth2 -n -s -w

The waproamd package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/509389 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
