Dear maintainer,
in the attachment of this e-mail you'll find the German translation for your
debconf template as provided at [0]. Please include this translation in your
next upload (place this file in debian/po/ as de.po).
If you update your template, please use
'msgfmt --statistics <pofile.po>'
to check the po-files for fuzzy or untranslated strings.
If there are such strings, please contact me so I can update the
German translation.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Kai Wasserbäch

================================================================================
Additional information:
Actually this translation just incorporates the »gitosis« and »/srv/gitosis«
lines, as these show up on the status pages as »untranslated«. So even though
they might not be needed, it would be good if they can be kept.
Hello Daniel,
you changed some parts in the translation I've sent in as #518374 and while I
like feedback I find most of your changes somewhat irritating (e.g. replacing
»Depot« with »Archiv«), the reason why I have used that word: it is a standard
translation for »repository« (see http://wiki.debian.org/Wortliste) the
debian-l10n-german team has agreed upon. This list is there to name the same
things in different programs the same way, so every user can easily understand
what is meant.
Another change I find legally objectionable: you deleted the »©« sign. As far as
I know it is required (at least in some jurisdictions) to claim the copyright
correctly. Otherwise »Copyright« might be a suitable replacement. I think there
was a discussion about this on -devel or -mentors in the past, but don't have
the link handy. So I'd like to ask you not to remove that sign, at least not, if
you don't replace it by »Copyright«. Generally I use the »©« as it is shorter
and (again, if I remember correctly) the way to go to be compatible with most
jurisdictions.
Last but not least you made some changes to the structure of the sentences. I'm
not that happy with all of them, but I'm open to discussing them. So if you like
to see them (or parts of them) incorporated in the next translation and have me
doing the translation I'd like to ask you to discuss your proposals on
debian-l10n-german. If you like, I can notify you, when I do the next
translation, i.e. when there is something new to translate. Otherwise you may
want to consider to take over the translation of your package, as I don't see
any sense in me trying to send in a discussed translation only to find out, that
quite a large part of it doesn't correspond to that discussed version. But even
then (IMHO) there should be some sort of proof-reading and discussion, though
that's totally up to you. (If you take over the translation and don't want to
discuss it on debian-l10n-german, please delete the list from the
Language-Team.)
Greetings,
Kai
P.S.: I hope the above doesn't sound too offensive. If it does, that wasn't
intended.
