Package: djvulibre-bin
Version: 3.5.14-5
Severity: normal

cjb2 with losslevel=150 or 200 can make character substitution errors:

dpi losslevel text errors
300 0 Euler's Infinite Product 0
300 50 Euler's Infinite Product 0
300 100 Euler's Infinite Product 0
300 150 Euler's Infinite Product 0
300 200 Euler's Infinite Product 0

600 0 Euler's Infinite Product 0
600 50 Euler's Infinite Product 0
600 100 Euler's Infinite Product 0
600 150 Euler's Infinite Product 0
600 200 Euler's Infinite Product 0

900 0 Euler's Infinite Product 0
900 50 Euler's Infinite Product 0
900 100 Euler's Infinite Product 0
900 150 Euler's Infinite Produet 1
900 200 Euler's Infinite Produet 1

1200 0 Euler's Infinite Product 0
1200 50 Euler's Infinite Product 0
1200 100 Euler's Infinite Product 0
1200 150 Euler's Infinite Produet 1
1200 200 Euler's Iufiuile Produel 5

First, the documentation should warn of the possibility of character
substitution errors. Unlike the blurring introduced by JPEG
compression, this kind of error may not be readily apparent at first
glance.

Second, I think there is an algorithm error here, because increasing
the resolution of the original image makes the problem worse.
Presumably some part of the character matching test isn't scaled
correctly for the number of pixels in the character. Note that
replacing "c" with "e" is perhaps understandable (particularly with
this font), but replacing "n" with "u" is not!
