Sometimes, on a busy FTP server, one proftpd processus serving an IDLE
connection eats a full processor. Stracing the processus gives a loop on
this syscall:
futex(0x8118098, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
Reproducible with a 2.6.10 kernel too.
