Package: leafnode
Version: 1.11.3.rel

Hello.

Installing leafnode 1.11.2.rel (Sarge) modifies /etc/inetd.conf to run
leafnode, but this no longer happens in 1.11.3.rel-2 (Etch) or
1.11.3.rel-4 (Sid). As a result, manual configuration is needed,
contrary to the usual Debian practice of configuring a program when
it's installed on the assumption that it will be used. Upgrading from
the Sarge version correctly leaves /etc/inetd.conf untouched; only new
installations on Etch or Sid are affected.

This affects at least the i386 package, and makes it unnecessarily
difficult for inexperienced users to use the package.

I'm guessing that the fix for Bug #312447 may have caused this
problem.

debian:/home/pjr# dpkg -l leafnode | grep leafnode
ii leafnode 1.11.3.rel-4 NNTP server for small leaf sites
debian:/home/pjr# grep leafnode /etc/inetd.conf
nntp stream tcp nowait news /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/leafnode

(This is the line that's no longer added automatically.)
