Package: xpdf-reader
Version: 3.00-10
Severity: normal
Hello !
I was just looking at the pdf /usr/share/doc/latex-xcolor/xcolor1.pdf.gz
found in debian
package latex-xcolor, which is supposed to demonstrate that there is little
error if, using
this package for converting color spaces, we shift this way : rgb -> cmy ->
cmyk -> hsb and
then back to rgb. With each of the colors tried, for each of the color
conventions, there is
a little box with the given color.
Using gv to display the file, it is impossible to tell if there is any
difference between
the colors for each test. However, using xpdf, I can see clearly that the
colors are
slightly different for the cmy and cmyk color conventions. It then seems to me
that the
algorithm which xpdf uses to display cmyk colors or simply to convert them to
rgb must be
faulty.
Thanks for considering this report

Based on upstream, there really isn't anything to be done about this
since results are device dependent.
