Package: evince
Version: 2.30.3-2
When opening a pdf file in evince, I get an error saying:
Unable to open document
File type PDF document (application/PDF) is not supported
And in the term I get:
(evince:1544): EvinceDocument-WARNING **:
/usr/lib/evince/2/backends/libpdfdocument.so: undefined symbol:
poppler_layers_iter_free
(evince:1544): EvinceDocument-WARNING **: Cannot load backend
'pdfdocument' since file '/usr/lib/evince/2/backends/libpdfdocument.so'
cannot be read.
(evince:1544): EvinceDocument-WARNING **:
/usr/lib/evince/2/backends/libpdfdocument.so: undefined symbol:
poppler_layers_iter_free
(evince:1544): EvinceDocument-WARNING **: Cannot load backend
'pdfdocument' since file '/usr/lib/evince/2/backends/libpdfdocument.so'
cannot be read.
** (evince:1544): WARNING **: Setting attribute
metadata::evince::sidebar_visibility not supported
Tried evince and evince-gtk on two newly installed Debian Squeeze
AMD64-machines with four different PDF-files with the same error (I have
not found any PDF that will open).
Converting the PDFs to PS and opening the PS in Evince works.

Remove the junk from /usr/local and evince will work.
Closing as not-a-bug.
